Hey Lauren,

I was just cleaning out my inbox and realized that I never responded to your question about how we prayed for Josiah.

His name means 'the fire of the Lord', and so I prayed often that he would live up to his name...

that he would be a purifying fire for us personally and in our marriage, a fire of joy in our lives and in the lives of those around us, and a fire of passion for God at home and to the ends of the earth.

We also prayed that our lives would be worth modeling, and that if he just watched us and modeled our lives, he would live a huge life for the glory of God.

Thanks for asking!

Love it, Zack. Every word is essentially truth. It's the hardest thing in the world that no one prepares you for. The only good thing (besides an amazing child - which is the BEST thing) is that you will be basically forced into a great relationship with God. When you realize how much you don't know, you hit your face and stay down there. I have never in my life been as sure of my total need for utter dependence on God as I am now that I'm a mom. Keep moving on, the lessons keep coming and they really are fun (though some not at that very moment) to learn!

Could you share with us (or with me) how you prayed during your pregnancy? How you prayed for Josiah, for each other, for your marriage, etc.

ha! This was great, Zach. Artur and I read this together and laughed so hard! We're right in the midst of the pregnancy part and he laughed especially hard at the being waited on hand and foot...not that he has to do it...
Hope you guys are well! Love the Christmas card!

This is very depressing :( I don't want my husband to read this because I don't want him to dread my pregnancy.
