Having kids isn't hard. The tasks required to maintain the life of your child, or even the tasks required to enhance the life of said child, are not difficult. Individually. For a short period of time. However, when they compound and the period time is 24 hours a day, the load gets heavy.

I told someone yesterday that sometimes I get tired of playing "Dad".

Don't get me wrong, I love my kids. I would do nearly thing to keep them out of harms way, but there days when we are driving home, after a mentally exhausting day at work, that I would prefer that they ride on top of the car instead of in it.

Having kids brings you face-to-face with the reality of your selfishness.
