We recently celebrated J’s first birthday!
I can barely wrap my mind around the fact that our son has been alive for a whole year… I feel like I just found out that I’m going to be a daddy.
Stephanie put SO much work into make J’s birthday super special.’
She picked out all the right party favors and decorations and invitations and thank-you notes…
She even drew a map of our kitchen with diagrams of where everything would go during the party!
I am seriously amazed at the wife God has given me!
And Steph’s sister, Adrienne, flew up from Florida to be a part of the celebration, and also to make J’s cake.
When Steph told me that, I thought, “Isn’t that cute. She’s spending several hundred dollars to travel here so she can make a cake… Well, I’m glad she’ll be here.“
Well let me tell you, I had no idea that my sister-in-law is a straight-up ace of cakes!
Look at this Elmo cake she made from just about scratch (we’re talking a shaped cake pan, so cake mix, some frosting, and some food coloring):
And on top of that, just for kicks, she made a couple-dozen Elmo cupcakes too:
This is what our kitchen looked like for about 48 hours:
Thanks Adrienne! You rock!
