Like any good ‘generation Y’ parents, we captured the moment.

Chewing on her bib.... we figured that since she tries to eat everything, then real food would be a breeze.

I thought this was cute/clever.

She’s a whopping 14.4 pounds, as of yesterday, and can wear clothes that Josiah fit in at SIX MONTHS.

She talks to herself at least 30 minutes a day, has been rolling over on her own for a couple of weeks now, and I swear she already knows how to roll her eyes at me.

Oh, and did I mention that she is GORGEOUS?

I snagged the camera last night while Kharis was sleeping.

It’s the only time she is still enough to take pictures without the flash.

Sometimes I wonder if she’s an angel…

In her ‘free’ time (while taking care of a one-year-old with more energy than Wake Electric and a 1-week-old who eats eight times a day) this week she took some amazing pictures of our daughter.

This is one of my favorites.

It relaxes me and helps me to exercise a creative part of me that I don’t get to use very often.

I got up a little early this morning and curled up with some coffee and my computer, and here’s what I came up with.

Everything that went into this (besides the camera) was free!

I love free software….

Please don’t think we worship our son or anything!

We just really enjoy photography, and Josiah lets us take as many pictures of him as we want.

One of the recent distractions was my birthday, and my awesome family bought me a snazzy new camera lens, so Steph and I have been playing with it whenever we’ve had time.

Here are a few of my favorites so far…

The car he’s playing with was also a birthday present. Steph asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I told her the Camaro from Transformers, so she bought me a remote-controlled replica from the dollar store! Josiah loves chasing it around the kitchen :0)

Our friends with children will understand our latest bump in the road as parents: baby food is expensive.

Right now, the cost to feed Josiah is around 50% of what it costs to feed Steph and I combined. Now, in fairness, the kid might have an over-eating disorder is an eating machine, but he doesn’t eat that much. The problem is the cost of baby food: it’s insane.

If we buy the organic gerber ‘second foods’ baby food for Josiah, right now he’ll eat $5-$6 worth every day.

Nuts!

So, we’re looking at different ways to make our own baby food, and that’s why I’m writing this post:
